The Effective Business Counseling Course (EBCC) for DTI-CARP was conducted last August 13-20, 2006 at the Marco Hotel, Alwana Business Park, Cagayan de Oro City.
The DTI-CARP, through the University of the Philippines-Institute of Small-Scale Industries (UP-ISSI), conducted the EBCC training course to the CARP personnel who were not yet on board when the same course was conducted in 2004. The course is designed to further equip the field personnel as effective business counselors in the agrarian reform communities (ARCs).
The training was participated by 24 CARP personnel from the Visayas and Mindanao regions, including the three CARP personnel of DTI-Bukidnon.
The EBCC Training Seminar is composed of lectures and workshops about the business counseling in the four areas of business, namely: marketing, production, human resource management and financial management. The participants were taught about the step-by-step procedure of business counseling in the four areas. Each participant is then required to come up with an Integrated Consultancy Survey Report (ICSR) for one of its client and defend it from the critique. The ICSR serves as the final output of the EBCC training.
